Benedict Cumberbatch Adds ‘How To Stop Time’ To His Upcoming Projects | Film News

B for Benedict and B for busy! Benedict Cumberbatch has just added How To Stop Time to his already heavy list of projects.

His SunnyMarch banner and StudioCanal have picked up the film rights to Matt Haig’s forthcoming novel and the actor has confirmed he will be producing and starring in the film adaptation.

He’ll be playing Tom Hazard, a man who looks like your average 41-year-old, but is actually centuries old due to an extremely rare condition.

The prospect of Benedict Cumberbatch playing Tom Hazard is a hugely exciting one and I could not be happier about working with Adam and Jamie, and to be reunited with StudioCanal,” said Haig, who had previously worked with StudioCanal on the 2014 hit, Paddington. StudioCanal will also be adapting Haig’s book series A Boy Called Christmas to the big screen.

Canongate CEO Jamie Byng will exec produce alongside Cumberbatch and SunnyMarch’s managing director, Adam Ackland.

Stay tuned for production updates!
