Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber has broken a US chart record previously held by Drake and The Beatles, for the most songs simultaneously in the US charts. Bieber currently has 17 songs in the Billboard Hot 100, following the release of his fourth studio record Purpose.

Both The Beatles and Drake have previously held 14 songs simultaneously in the charts, with three of the 17 tracks being in the top 10 (“Sorry”, “Love Yourself”, “What Do You Mean?”). The new record was released on November 13, and has smashed Spotify records having been streamed 205 million times since. The previous record was held by The Weeknd and his album Beauty Behind The Madness, which was streamed 90 million times.
