BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA! BLACKPINK have released the music video of their lead single “DDU-DU DDU-DU“, included in their first mini album Square Up.
“DDU-DU DDU-DU” is electro-pop song that incorporates many Hindu sounds. The song was produced by YG’s hitmaker Teddy, who’s been behind some of K-pop’s biggest hits including BLACKPINK’s previous singles “Whistle”, “Boombayah” and “As If It’s Your Last”.
The music video starts with the four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, on thrones. Jennie sits in a rainbow dress and a crown on Pink Queen Chess piece throne on a chessboard floor. Lisa appears with a parrot, a katana with the name of the group on it inside a money vault. In that scene, she holds in a hand the official lightstick of the band.
Rosé appears on a pedestal adorning a crown and a brilliant dress and Jisoo as a widow. Jennie appears as a girl with many bags in her hands in a short white dress with a big white pamela hat and other scene lying with a shiny tank. Jisoo appears again with a pink wig and surrounded by masked men holding a mobile phone like a gun. In the end, they dance with an oriental building behind them.
