This new track, produced by the Grammy-nominated Ragee, blends sensual guitars, syncopated beats, and hand-crafted bass to create a mesmerizing backdrop for the duo’s soulful vocals.
Since its release last month, “Love Garden” has garnered global acclaim and secured spots on YouTube’s Alté Way playlist and Spotify’s Bubblin’ playlist. Fans have quickly labeled it a classic, solidifying its place in Boj’s esteemed discography. Boj, whose full name is Bolaji Odojukan, has been a trailblazer in the Alté scene for over a decade. This genre, a blend of Electronica, Afro-futurism, and R&B, diverges from mainstream Afropop to explore deeper, more nuanced sounds.
Boj’s journey began alongside his school friends Teezee and Fresh L, before he ventured into a solo career with his debut album Boj on the Mic. This album showcased his unique sound, influenced by his upbringing between the UK and Nigeria, and featured elements from London grime to global Afrofusion.
Over the years, Boj has earned the respect of his peers, collaborating with renowned artists such as WizKid, Skepta, and AjeButter. His acclaimed album Gbagada Express featured notable names like Davido, Ayra Starr, Mr Eazi, and more, earning an AIM Best Album nomination and praise from The Guardian.
