Bradley Whitford, Toby Kebbell And Scoot McNairy Join Nicole Kidman In ‘Destroyer’ | Film News

Karyn Kusama‘s follow up to The Invitation, the crime thriller Destroyer, already had a resurgent Nicole Kidman in line to star, but it has now added three talented actors to the cast.

Two-time Emmy winner Bradley Whitford (The West Wing, Get Out), Toby Kebbell (War For The Planet Of Apes) and Scoot McNairy (12 Years A Slave) have joined the film. Along with Kidman, they also join the recently added Tatiana Maslany and Sebastian Stan on the cast.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi have penned the film, which follows the complex existential odyssey of LAPD Detective Erin Bell, who as a young cop was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. When the leaders of the gang re-emerge years later, she must work her way back through the remaining members and finally confront the demons that destroyed her past.

Critical reaction to The Invitation was solid, and Kusama is clearly an upcoming talent behind the camera that now has an extremely talented cast at her disposal. Destroyer currently doesn’t have a release date, but principal photography will commence next week in Los Angeles.
