“Glitter” is the commanding and dynamic new track from Brooklyn indie pop ensemble Daisy The Great, fronted by Kelley Nicole Dugan and Mina Walker.
The new single “Glitter” comes on the back of their recent collaboration with AJR titled “Record Player”, which made it into the top 15 of the Spotify US Viral Chart and is also in the top 20 at US alternative radio.
Dugan and Walker describe their sound as “folk-inflected indie rock that spans a multitude of moods – capable of being clever, devastating or both simultaneously, spanning harmony-laden folk pop to powerhouse indie rock balladry with intricate and impossible to resist music“.
The duo began writing music together five years ago and they have gone on to release three projects and hone their live music experience opening for the likes of Indigo Girls, Sidney Gish and Samia.
They released their debut EP titled I’ve Got A Few Friends And I Wish They Were Mine in 2018 to rave reviews and garnering over five million streams. This was followed up with their debut album I’m Not Getting Any Taller the following year and released their second EP last year.
Daisy The Great create an inviting, playful sound by combining the heavenly harmonies of First Aid Kit, the vulnerable plucking of Kimya Dawson, and the robust sincerity of Lucy Dacus. The band is currently working on their next project and you can listen to “Glitter” here:
