C.C.H. Pounder Will Reprise Role In ‘Avatar’ Sequels | Film News

 

C.C.H. Pounder will make a return to the Avatar series as Moat, the clan’s spiritual leader, debuted in the 2009 film. Pounder joins the four installments announced by mastermind James Cameron at CinemaCon in 2016, after his vision for the series expanded more and more.

 

Pounder currently portrays Dr. Loretta Wade on CBS’ NCIS: New Orleans, and has received a number of Emmy nominations for her TV work.

 

Pounder returns to the franchise along with Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang. Game of Thrones star Oona Chaplin, is the first newcomer to be announced. Plot details are not known.

 

Avatar 2 will debut on December 18, 2020. The three following installments are set for release on December 17, 2021, December 20, 2024, and December 19, 2025, respectively.
