Rachel Hill, the Cambridge-based artist with a reputation for gorgeous, commanding and enchanting vocals, is all set to launch her debut album Words Left Unsaid on the 16th of June.
Celebrations are in order as Hill has organised two headline gigs to mark the occasion, at The Harrison in London on the launch day, followed by Thrive in Cambridge on the 17th.
Known for her emotive and vulnerable lyricism paired with soaring, bird-like melodies, Hill’s music resonates deeply with her listeners.
Her debut album, featuring the emotional single “I Don’t Wanna Hurt You Again”, is a collection of nine songs that collectively showcase Hill’s knack for weaving intricate harmonic soundscapes and delivering poignant lyrical content.
Rachel Hill’s journey in music has been a dedicated one. After completing her masters in songwriting and production in 2022, she committed herself to a full-time career as a singer-songwriter and producer. Her fondness for harmonies, a staple in her songwriting, comes alive in her performances with the help of her loop pedal.
As she carves her path in the indie-folk scene, Hill counts powerhouses like Taylor Swift, Joni Mitchell, Dodie, and Lizzie McAlpine among her inspirations. She also acknowledges the influence of The Staves, Bon Iver, and Jacob Collier, whose work reflects the harmonic layers that she is drawn to.
