Carmen Ejogo To Star In Netflix Thriller ‘Rattlesnake’ From ‘1922’ Director | Film News

Carmen Ejogo has just added another intriguing title to an upcoming slate of impressive roles. She’s about to star in the third season of True Detective alongside Mahershala Ali and Stephen Dorff, while she’s also set to appear in the Fantastic Beasts sequel. On top of that, she’s now signed on to star in an upcoming psychological thriller for Netflix titled Rattlesnake, which hails from director Zak Hilditch.

Hilditch has already worked with Netflix once, having helmed last year’s adaptation of the Stephen King novella, 1922. Collider reports that Ejogo will portray a single mother who accepts the help of a mysterious woman after her daughter is bitten by a rattlesnake. However, she soon finds herself forced to pay back her “debt” by taking the life of a total stranger in a rural Texas town.

Theo Rossi (Sons Of Anarchy, Luke Cage) and Emma Greenwell (Shameless) will co-star, while Ross Dinerstein is producing via his Campfire banner, having worked previously with Hilditch on 1922. He’s also produced other Netflix films such as The Package and 6 Balloons.

This marks another good-looking role for Ejogo, who also starred in a pair of genre films last year: Alien: Covenant and It Comes At Night. 1922 was pretty hit-and-miss, but it had an atmosphere dripping with dread. Hopefully that’s something that can be translated into this film, too.

Ejogo will next be seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald, which hits cinemas Friday, November 16, before starring in True Detective season three, which arrives on HBO on January 13, 2019.
