Carrie Fisher has the perfect response to her body shamers. For me, Fisher, has been one of the highlights of the Star Wars promotional tour. She has been owning every interview and red carpet appearance by dropping truth bomb after truth bomb and simply being her refreshingly candid self.
The one thing you should know by now, is that you don’t mess with Carrie Fisher. Like ever. Because she will come for you, like several twitters users will bear witness to. Yesterday, Fisher took to twitter to express her frustration with people who are way to preoccupied with her looks and age. She is right, your looks shouldn’t define you. We should be focusing on what’s important – like what a badass human being and wonderful actress she is.

I love her response to these unnecessary comments. This isn’t the first time she has spoken about Hollywood’s unrealistic and unfair body standards. Earlier this month, Fisher revealed that she had felt pressured to lose weight in order to reprise her most famous role. “They don’t want to hire all of me – only about three-quarters! Nothing changes: it’s an appearance-driven thing. I’m in a business where the only thing that matters is weight and appearance. That is so messed up. They might as well say get younger, because that’s how easy it is”.
Fisher ended her twitter rant by saying, “Youth&BeautyR/NOT ACCOMPLISHMENTS,theyre theTEMPORARY happy/BiProducts/of Time&/or DNA/Dont Hold yourBreath4either/ifUmust holdAir/takeGarys”. Preach.
