With nearly every clip from Spike TV’s LL Cool J-hosted Lip Sync Battle, going viral, it’s been hard to miss the celebrity sing-off series. With the show drawing in big talent, fans were allowed to witness Justin Bieber’s rendition of Fergie’s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and Anne Hathaway’s amazing swinging lip sync of Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball”. It’s a chance to see stars battle it out as we see them like never before, as well as a chance for them to bring out a host of special surprise guests from Jennifer Lopez to Mary J Blige. LL Cool J is also joined by Chrissy Teigen who helps him direct what goes down in the lip sync arena.
It is being reported that the series is having a UK version. No news has been released yet on who will be hosting the UK series but with the success of the US version, I’m sure a host of celebrities will be getting their name down and practicing their lip sync moves. This isn’t the first time Channel 5 and Spike TV have joined forces with Spike’s miniseries Tut debuting on Channel 5 this week as well as Channel 5 helping, in launching the Spike TV UK channel. Spike TV UK currently airs episodes of the US Lip Sync Battle on select Tuesdays at 10:30pm. The UK version has no official release date but it is expected to be at some point in early 2016.
