Chloe Grace Moretz Shuts Down ‘Kick Ass 3’ Rumours | Film News
While fans would very much like a third film added to the Kick Ass franchise, Chloe Grace Moretz – who plays Hit-Girl – does not think it likely. Speaking with Digital Spy, she says, “sadly, I think I’m done with the character. Hit-Girl was a very cool character, but I don’t think there will be any more movies”. According to Chloe Grace Moretz, the failure of Kick Ass 2 was not the fault of the bad reviews, but was rather the fault of movie piracy.
She says, “Kick-Ass 2 was one of the number one pirated movies of the year, but that doesn’t help us because we need box office figures. We need to prove to the distributors that we can make money from a third and a fourth movie – but because it didn’t do so well, we can’t make another one”. So there you have it, another Kick Ass sequel is not only unlikely, but is almost certainly not going to happen. Fans who enjoy seeing Chloe Grace Moretz play a superhero character, though, might get to see her in a different superhero movie as she is “getting a lot of source material from books and comics right now, so it’s a great place to look”.
