Choreographer JaQuel Knight Creates Copyright Company For Dance Moves | Music News

Famous choreographer JaQuel Knight has become the first choreographer to copyright his dance moves. According to Variety, JaQuel Knight has launched Knight Choreography and Music Publishing Inc. to protect the intellectual property rights of his dance moves.

Knight told Variety, “We set a historic precedent with our ‘Single Ladies’ copyright achievement, and we are thrilled to be launching Knight Choreography & Music Publishing, Inc. so that the next generation of artists are afforded the same platform, resources and tools to thrive, creatively and financially, in the commercial music industry”.

The choreographer has just achieved a major first, and he also plans to represent the rights of other choreographers and creators in all media. This will change and improve the protection of choreographers in the music industry.

For this, he will work hand in hand with lawyer David Hecht and producer Mary Pelloni.

JaQuel Knight has become one of the most innovative and successful choreographers in the industry after choreographing the video for Beyonce‘s “Single Ladies”, which has since become one of the most popular dances in the world.

He also choreographed Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion‘s “WAP” and JLo and Shakira‘s Super Bowl Halftime Show, to name a few of his successes.
