Coldplay have shared a new video for “Up&Up”, their song about taking a bunch of pingers. The track’s taken from A Head Full Of Dreams, last year’s album.
The track is light, ethereal and calm. Initially it does not seem like the typical live band format. Boiled down, it seems to be a touch of strings, what sounds predominantly like drum machine, with rumbling yet tuneful bass. Just before the last minute is a tasteful guitar solo, too. The closing vocal harmonies soar, akin to progressive rockers, Yes.
Directed by Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, the video features strange visuals that have to be seen to be believed. The title of the track is perhaps apt, especially for the parts taking place in space. Like the little girl on a play swing overlooking Earth, for example.
