Glasgow’s Prides are back with another track, “Rome”. It is their first new music since last year’s debut album, The Way Back Up, and it slots perfectly into their knack for arms-aloft, breakneck-speed bangers. Apparently it came together after locking themselves in a cabin for a week.
“Rome” some classic Eighties percussion, making for a massive sound. It mixes the likes of this with live band instrumentation, and somehow makes for intense, exciting listening. A middle section slows things, before building into a vocal crescendo and coming back into the song proper. Something approaching a guitar solo closes the track, simply but emotive.
