We have lost yet another high-profile celebrity in the shape of Victoria Wood. As one of the most successful female comedians, Victoria Wood is famous for her TV roles, tours and most of all making people laugh. It has been confirmed that she died after the a short battle with cancer.
She died with her family by her bedside yesterday morning. She is not only a comedian but a great actor, director and writer too. She was awarded a CBE in 2008 by The Queen. She also collaborated with Julie Walters throughout her long and lustrous career.
Many comedians and fellow actors have paid tribute to her, even joined by the Prime Minister, David Cameron, in paying their respects to her and her life. She will be sadly missed and hopefully her work will be remembered for years and years to come.
