“See Yourself” is one half of Aroe Phoenix‘s two-track sophomore EP Veins that also features “Beautiful Demise”. This new EP differs from the first one and is characterized by its R&B perspective layering playfully on a Neo soul sound bed embellished with jazz. This moody and alluring project is an opportunity to enjoy Aroe Phoenix’s mellow vocal textures.
Aroe said that “‘Veins’ is about the process of losing something that you thought you could never live without, only to find yourself again.”. This project is a follow-up to Phoenix’s debut EP 8:18, a four-track love letter to the world that she unveiled with the aim of inspiring equality, healing, and unity.
Blending her own unique sound with her inspiration from several genres such as jazz and old-school hip-hop influences Aroe owns her unique style. The Arizona-based artist grew up for most of her teenage years in México and began training and dedicating her faith and love for music at a very young age. Her single “Nothing To You” marked her first step on the music scene in 2019
As she will tell you, “there are a lot of layers to my life, but no matter what I just keep going. There is something in me that just won’t quit”.
