Corey Hawkins To Star In ’24: Legacy’ | TV News

Having made a name for himself in Straight Outta Compton, Corey Hawkins has already lined up his next big project: 24: Legacy. As a Jack Bauer-less spin-off of the original series, 24: Legacy will focus on a new Counter-Terrorism Unit as they attempt to foil a new and bigger threat to the U.S. of A.

The word is that Hawkins will be playing the leading man, Eric Carter; a man who returns from military duty overseas with a terrorist conspiracy not far behind. He’ll be the one to assemble a CTU which includes his own wife, Nicole, and a former head of another CTU.

With the only sight of Jack Bauer’s old team being a picture hanging on the wall of an office, it’s up to these people to combat a threat unlike anything America has seen before. Luckily Hawkins will be helped along by the original producers Howard Gordon, Manny Koto and Evan Katz. Who knows? He may even get his own catchphrase.

This is undoubtedly a fantastic gig for Hawkins, who received praise for his performance as Dr. Dre, but it is not the only thing we can look forward to seeing him in as he is currently filming Kong: Skull Island. That particular film is due out March 10, 2017 and we can expect 24: Legacy to hit our screens sometime this year.
