Australian alt-pop band Cub Sport have shared a beautiful new single titled “I’ve Never Cried So Much in My Whole Life”. Their first offering after nine months of global touring celebrates the joy of embracing one’s true identity.
Following their highly praised eponymous third album, Cub Sport are back with a touching ballad about overcoming difficulties that stop us being ourselves. “I’ve Never Cried So Much in My Whole Life” features vocals from Savage Garden’s Darren Hayes and is the first single taken from the band’s upcoming fourth album.
Despite being gentle and nostalgic, the latest indie-pop gem from Cub Sport conveys an overwhelming sense of triumph. The release of “I’ve Never Cried So Much in My Whole Life” coincides with the group’s London show at the legendary Scala venue. This year on October 17, millions of people will also wear purple in support of LGBTQ youth for GLAAD Spirit Day.
Band frontman Tim Nelson said, “I hope this song can bring hope and light to anyone who’s going through it right now. I spent so many years of my life feeling like I’d always have to hide, letting the horrible things people would say push me further and further from being my authentic self.
I know how it feels to want to be somebody other than yourself but this song is proof that you can make it to the other side. You are who you are for a reason and you’re deserving of love and happiness. Hang in there, I promise you it gets better”.
