Daniel Radcliffe, having just wrapped for filming for magician sequel Now You See Me: The Second Act, and Paul Dano from TV mini-series War and Peace; it’s great to see two actors who started young doing so well and collaborating with each other… in the form of a movie about a dead body.
Variety has reported that Radcliffe and Dano, along with Scott Pilgrim vs The World star Mary Elizabeth Winstead, have signed on for morbid comedy Swiss Army Man, the story of a man, stranded in the wilderness and alone, that becomes best friends with a dead body after finding it. The two then embark on a surreal journey in order to get back home.
The film is backed by Sundance, and will be directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert – the men behind the music video for Lil Jon and DJ Snake‘s “Turn Down For What”, for which they won ‘Best Direction’ at the MTV music awards. Following their impressive back catalogue of music videos and shorts, the pair are following the likes of Spike Jonze and David Fincher, who both began in music video production and moulded impressive filmmaking careers from it. Swiss Army Man begins filming in a few weeks, and we can expect its release in late 2016.
