The month of February is recognised widely as the month that contains Valentines Day, supposedly the most romantic day of the year. It isn’t recognised however for its’ popularity with box office smash hits – until the last couple of years. Both The Lego Movie and Fifty Shades of Grey, released in February over the last two years, have done extremely well. This year, however, the Marvel Cinematic Universe‘s latest venture Deadpool is set for a February release. In celebration of this, and the films’ unusual and comedic nature, a poster has been released depicting the action-packed superhero movie as a Romantic Comedy. You can see the poster below.
Deadpool sees anti-hero Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) tell his origin story, of how he, as a former Special Forces Operative-turned-Mercenary, was subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, thus adopting the alter ego Deadpool. Alongside Reynolds, Deadpool stars Vanessa Carlyle, Morena Baccarin, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Olesia Shewchuk, Style Dayne, Rachel Sheen and Dan Zachary.
Deadpool is set for a February 12 release.
