All four members of the band and their manager died last February when their car plunged into a canal in Sweden. Now their album is about to reach number one in the album chart.

Coldplay paid tribute to Viola Beach on June 26 at Glastonbury. Chris Martin said in front of the 100,000-strong crowd: “We’re going to create Viola Beach’s alternate future and let them headline Glastonbury for a song”. He claims that Coldplay never was as good as Viola Beach at that age. The youngest member of the British indie rock band was only 19 when the tragic accident happened.

The families decided to finish the album of their lost sons and brothers. The band was full of hope and now they’re not even able to see that they’ve made it. Viola Beach is on the best way to be on top of the charts. “They wrote songs to make people happy”. So let’s be happy about their success and that they created something that will remain, even though it’s their first and last album.

The album is now available on CD, download and to stream.
