The ultimate young popstar and The Voice UK finalist Donel Mangena, who won the nations hearts with his incredible performances, has unleashed his debut single since signing with Polydor Records, “Bang Like A Drum“. Co-written by Donel and featuring up-and-coming London rapper Swarmz, the track is a afro-swing leaning pop smash, bringing pure vibes and fun!
Coach and mentor, multi-platinum music producer and songwriter Will.i.am, who was the last person to work with Michael Jackson, likened Donel to the late-King of Pop, saying: “Donel could be the biggest artist on earth’”. he continues: “The way he is in the studio, how attentive he is, mentally, spiritually, his excitement and dedication. That’s what Michael was like.”
Even Prince Harry was a fan, and personally invited Donel to join the line-up for the Queen’s 92nd Birthday concert earlier this year at the Royal Albert Hall. Donel has been focused on getting into the studio to write and record, working with acts like Craig David. But for now, the attention is fully on his infectious debut single.
