Dwayne Johnson has shared details regarding his next film, Rampage, an adaptation of the classic arcade game.
Johnson, who seemingly doesn’t sleep and instead replenishes himself by starring in even more films – he currently has Baywatch, Jumanji and The Fate Of The Furious lined up for 2017 – revealed that shooting will begin in April, and has vowed to take his audience on an epic ride.
On Instagram, Johnson posted: “My fave moment from this merciless six hour meeting was when I shared with this group that there’s an equity and trust I’ve built with my audience that they trust me to take them on an epic ride, and [we] always do our best to send them home happy”.
“Very cool moment to see everyone’s eyes light and heads start to nod. To win on any level you gotta have teamwork and collaboration and can’t thank everyone enough in this room for their energy and focus”.
Brad Peyton, who directed Johnson in San Andreas, is set to direct the film reckons it will surprise people: “It’s going to be a lot more emotional, a lot scarier, and a lot more real than you’d expect”.
Whether Rampage can make good of Johnson’s promise is, obviously, yet to be seen.
But if a film can be adapted from a board game and be given a $200 million budget (Battleship) and be relatively successful – well, making $300 million against a $200 million budget is actually not considered that successful, but consider for a minute that a film based on a BOARD GAME made that much money, and I’d say it was – then surely Rampage can attain at least a modicum of success and send Johnson’s fans home happy.
Johnson can next be seen in The Fate Of The Furious, which opens Friday, April 14.
