British singer-songwriter Ellie Rose is back with a new single called “Dancing With An Astronaut”. The multi-layered alt-pop anthem has a cinematic quality to it and would fit perfectly into a movie soundtrack.
As a daughter of music video directors, Ellie Rose has arts and performance in her blood. Now, she is not only a promising singer and songwriter, but also a videographer creating visuals to her own tracks.
24-year-old Ellie kicked off her career back in 2016, when she embarked on an acoustic tour across the UK and performed successfully in London’s Koko and The Old Blue Last. Ellie’s songwiting talent was quickly spotted by BBC introducing and lead her to play on their stage at Glastonbury festival.
Throughout the past few years, the London based vocalist has continued to produce acclaimed pop singles and she recently secured a deal with Humble Angel Records. Supported by such publications as Clash and Vents Magazine, Ellie says, “I love my music to sound vintage, rich and classy. My lyrics explore my sexuality with a hint of humour”.
“Dancing With An Astronaut”, the latest offering from Ellie Rose, follows her recent singles “Good To You” and “Audrey”. The track, which layers the singer’s dreamy vocals over rumbling drums and escalating strings, has a distinctly cinematic feel to it.
Speaking about her newest single, Ellie said: “Dancing with an Astronaut’ is something I wrote one hot afternoon in July on my boyfriends piano, by a window facing the pub he was sitting in. I recorded the demo when I got home with the harmonies sung by my beautiful little sister Lily.
“It’s about a night that I danced in a glittery jumpsuit until the earliest hours of the morning, laughed until I cried and blushed as my heart filled with butterflies. That night changed a lot for me, it’s possible that I’ve been on another planet ever since”.
