Warner Bros. Pictures have released the first trailer for Mowgli, a new darker take on the classic story written by Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book. The film was directed by Andy Serkis and also stars Rohan Chand as Mowgli, Matthew Rhys as John Lockwood, Freida Pinto, Cate Blanchett as Kaa, Naomie Harris as Nisha, Benedict Cumberbatch as Shere Kan, Christian Bale as Bagheera and Serkis as Baloo.
Back in 2016, Disney released The Jungle Book, which went on to generate $966 million at the worldwide box office, but the new CGI footage in Mowgli is more realistic and features genuinely threatening beasts such as the malevolent tiger Shere Khan or the snake Kaa. Warner Bros. Pictures will release Mowgli on October 19.
The story is about a human child raised by wolves, must face off against the menacing tiger Shere Khan, as well as his own origins.
