Former Arctic Monkeys Bassist Launches New Label | Music News

Former Arctic Monkeys member Andy Nicholson has set up his own record label. His new label, Card Gang Music, is a collective of Sheffield based musicians that is led by Nicholson alongside Jamie Shield, who is a producer who has recently worked with George The Poet. The label have released their first track from Nicholson and Shields’ production. They have operated under the name Sticky Blood and are due to release an EP I.D on August 14. You can hear the new track “Professional” via soundcloud which features vocals from Hekky.

Nicholson commented on the new label: “In today’s world of trust fund kids pretending to be A&R at major labels, it’s sometimes difficult to see how you would fit into these organisations, and if you’d actually want to. Creating our own label seemed the obvious choice when looking at all our options. Card Gang was conceived as a brand that would encapsulate our talents and skill sets whether we were working singularly or together under our Clubs & Spades or Sticky Blood monikers. We are sure we will have other aliases depending on the music we create, so having Card Gang Music as an umbrella over our various projects made the most sense”.
