Gael García Bernal Directs Long Awaited Second Movie ‘Chicuarotes’ | Film News

Gael García Bernal made his directing debut in 2007 with movie Deficit. His long-awaited latest project, titled Chicuarotes and due for release in 2016, follows a group of boys in their mid-teens who live by a lake. Financially they are broke, but their happiness is not deterred, and they live with a strong sense of freedom. The narrative continues to see them attempt to make their fortunes so that they don’t have to live the daily working life. It’s a very dark comedy, and with Gael at the helm, we can expect some intellectual stimulation, and cultural enlightenment.
