Gillian Anderson, who is already somewhat of a Netflix mainstay thanks to her roles in The Crown and Sex Education, has now signed a first-look production deal with the streamer. The deal is for two years, and Anderson’s company Fiddlehead Productions will create new series for Netflix.
Anderson told Variety: “Netflix have been an inspiring and supportive home for much of my recent acting work so I am excited to partner with them for the television projects I am currently developing. We have a shared passion for progressive, compelling, and engaging stories and I’m thrilled to announce our collaboration.”
Although best known for her on-screen work, Anderson has already notched a producer credit for the 2014-2016 serial killer series The Fall, in which she also starred. While it was a BBC series in the UK, it aired on Netflix in the U.S., further solidifying her relationship with the company.
Sex Education has already been announced to continue into its fourth season, with Anderson still in a key role. While there’s currently no word on what shows Anderson and Fiddlehead Productions will produce for the streamer, Netflix will be hoping they’re as successful as their previous collaborations with her.
Anderson will next be seen playing Eleanor Roosevelt in Showtime historical anthology series The First Lady, which premieres in April.
