I think Gina Rodriguez just won The Most Generous Celeb Of The Year award. What’s that? There isn’t one. Well you better get on that because Rodriguez has just proven that she deserves awards not only for acting talent, but for her wonderfully generous personality too.
You’ve all heard of fairy godmother moments, well this one started with a tweet. Jessica Casanova, a fan of Gina’s, did what we’ve all done and continue to do: reached out to her hero on Twitter in hopes of a like or something even more precious, a response. Casanova tweeted, “[S]o would love to wear your golden globes dress to prom”. Not only did she get a response, she’s getting the dress. Rodriguez is actually sending her the dress.

After Casanova tweeted back her location, Gina double-checked to make sure that Jessica knew which dress she was referring to. Because it turns out that Gina doesn’t actually own the stunning Zac Posen dress she wore to this year’s ceremony. It was just a loan, which is often the case. So instead she’s sending Jessica the gorgeous black dress she wore for the 2015 Golden Globes, yes that’s right, the one in which she won her first Golden Globe.
That’s a big deal! I can just hear Jessica whispering to herself “Today is a great day. I can and I did”. So, Gina, I would love to wear that dress too. How do we make that work? And Jessica we want pictures!
