‘Girlboss’ To Hit The Small Screen April 21 | TV News

Curious to see how “Nasty Gal” was born? You’re in luck. Netflix is bringing the background story of the American fashion retailer and its founder, Sophia Amoruso, to the small screen on Friday, April 21.

Girlboss will narrate Sophia’s story in 13 episodes – how she started out as a rebellious and very broke anarchist that “stumbled upon her passion of selling vintage clothes online” and developed this passion to become an unlikely but successful businesswoman who “realized the value and the difficulty of being the boss of her own life”.

Netflix released the first teaser for the show on their official YouTube channel just hours ago. The teaser features Britt Robertson, who plays protagonist, Sophia, dancing to wild music and dressed in a bright and eclectic outfit.

Robertson will be joined by Ellie Reed, Alphonso McAuley, Johnny Simmons and Dean Norris. Kay Cannon helms the show as creator, showrunner and executive producer. Amoruso will also work as an executive producer, alongside Laverne McKinnon, Christian Ditter, and Oscar-winner, Charlize Theron.
