‘Gotham’ Creators Are Working On A ‘Pennyworth’ Prequel Series | TV News

Listen up, Gotham fans! After FOX recently announced that next year’s fifth season of Gotham will also be its last, it seemed like the right time to say goodbye. But the team behind the DC TV series seems to not want to do that. It’s now been reported that showrunner Bruno Heller has landed a 10 episode straight to series order for Pennyworth.

That’s right. Our favorite butler Alfred Pennyworth will get his own show where his past will be discovered. After all, there is a lot to tell, as he was a soldier in the SAS, the British secret forces, before becoming a butler to the Wayne family. As the series will be set in 1960’s London, it will probably uncover this part.

For the moment, it is known that Sean Pertwee who portrayed him in the Gotham series isn’t tied to this show at all. Thinking about the setting this does make sense. For now, there isn’t any news about who will be playing him in the series – only that besides Bruno Heller, Gotham executive producer Danny Cannon will also be a part of the team behind the show.
