Gothenburg Based Artist-Producer Klara Goliger Releases New Single ‘Never Gonna Get’

Klara Goliger is a Gothenburg-based artist and producer who has been making music since she was a child. She began studying classical composition before moving on to electronic music and earning a bachelor’s degree in sound and music production from the Academy of Music and Drama in Gothenburg.

She began writing political pop songs in Swedish for the band Skamvrn in high school. She then formed the electro duo Eavesdrop with Alexander Thellner. Eavesdrop has toured Sweden extensively and released their debut album Directions in 2019.

In 2020, she released the EP 22, which featured four songs written under her own name and produced in collaboration with fellow synth enthusiast Hannes Boeryd. Her debut album The Piano Chair will be released on November 10th, and will be celebrated with a release party at Pustervik in Gothenburg.

Growing up, love, and sisterhood are themes that run throughout the album. The arrangements are carried by piano, strings, bass guitar, organ, and percussion. Her delicate, melancholy, and clever pop has been compared to that of Fiona Apple and Regina Spektor.

“Never Gonna Get” is a jazz pop banger about a relationship that both parties know is doomed but no one dares to leave. A vibrant arrangement of drums, strings, piano, choir, and double bass moves around the upfront and melodic lead vocal.
