Grimes has teased the release of a new single titled “A New Way To Die”, hinting the song might arrive this week.
On Tuesday (September 3), the Canadian singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, shared a gothic artwork on instagram with the caption: “A new way to die! 2 Days”, suggesting her new single will come out on Thursday.

The artist has been teasing new music on social media for more than a year now. A few months ago, she shared a demo track called “Pretty Dark”, a follow up to 2018’s “We Appreciate Power”.
The new song, “A New Way To Die”, will probably appear on Grimes’ highly anticipated fifth studio album, Miss_Anthropocene, which is expected to drop later this year, following 2015’s Art Angels.
Even though the latest record from Grimes received positive reviews, the singer has recently described it as “a piece of crap”. “I feel like people really misread it and it feels like a stain on my life”, she said.
Last month, the controversial artist announced she would appear in the next Adidas by Stella McCartney campaign, which will focus on sustainability and using eco-friendly materials.
In August, Grimes shared a video teasing her the first unnamed single from Miss_Anthropocene. The release date for the new song was set for September 13.
The vocalist previously described her forthcoming LP as: “concept album about the anthropomorphic Goddess of climate Change: A psychedelic, space-dwelling demon/ beauty-Queen who relishes the end of the world… She’s composed of Ivory and Oil”.
