When it comes to Star Wars, Harrison Ford doesn’t really geek out like the rest of us. Instead he gives polite, short and often aloof responses to questions about Han Solo and his blaster. Tormenting George Lucas has been somewhat of a hobby of his, known for famously saying “”You can type this s–t, George, but you can’t say it”. In response to the much loved words “Chewie we’re home” from the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, he simply called it “another day at the office” which can be viewed as a pretty coarse response since he had the world (and set) in awe. One could hope for a bit more enthusiasm. But deep down behind his pragmatic front you know he genuinely cares for the films and the fans, because just like Solo he is a softie at heart (but don’t say that to his face).
In a new video for the charitable initiative Star Wars: A Force For Change, Ford along with Omaze announce a brand new fundraising campaign where a lucky fan could win the opportunity to walk the red carpet at the Star Wars: The Force Awakens premier in either London or L.A. Donations will benefit 15 separate charitable organizations picked by different members of the cast and crew. In the video Ford shows his love and appears to be having a complete blast as fans obviously go completely mental. It’s hard to pin down the videos highlight, my personal favourite might be when Ford pretends to get offended with a fan who doesn’t name him as her favourite character and thus begins to give her jip. Then again, the whole video is pretty darn great. Check it out below and be prepared for a few smiles and as always may the force be with you.
