The HBO Max franchise has unveiled the trailer for the long-awaited Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which will air on the franchise’s platform on January 1, 2022.
The trailer opens with the familiar ticking of the Hogwarts clock tower. This is followed by a picture from the Daily Prophet with the headline “Hogwarts Welcomes Back Alumni“.
There are many familiar faces, including Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), and Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley). Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) also appears to be spotted coming down from the famous Platform 9 ¾.
The famous trio Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson will indeed be present at the reunion.
Alongside them are Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James and Oliver Phelps, Ronnie Wright, Alfred Enoch and Evanna Lynch, who will also be featured in the exclusive making-of feature.
It’s been 20 years since all these actors took us on a journey through the magical world of Harry Potter. The franchise has spawned eight successful feature films, the Fantastic Animals spin-off series, the play Cursed Child and much more.
However, author J.K.Rowling will not be present at the reunion, whose polemical comments about the transgender community have provoked much criticism. Nevertheless, the program will include archive material from the production of the films, which will include Rowling.
