Game Of Thrones is probably one of the biggest hits of HBO. After eight seasons the show will come to an end next year. But the fans of the fantasy show don’t have to worry as they announced in March last year that it won’t be the last we have seen of Westeros. So beware, the spin-offs are coming, as they already said that there will be five different stories to tell.
Francesca Orsi, HBO senior VP of drama, said at a panel called Best of HBO in Israel “$50 million (per season) would never fly for what we are trying to do. We are going big.” She also told the audience that the budget will be set around the budget of the original series at the moment which means around 15 million $ per episode.
Most of the spin-offs already have found their screen-writers with Max Borenstein, Jane Goldman, Brian Helgeland and Carly Wray all working on different ones. That is the only thing known about the spin-offs at the moment. As the first one will probably air in 2020 there is enough time to concentrate on the final six episodes for Game Of Thrones premiering in 2019.
