Emerging Irish rapper Madew boldly claims to be the best rapper from his hometown of Dundalk, Ireland, and one of the top three in the country, despite only beginning his music career in 2022. His unwavering confidence reflects his belief that soon everyone following the Irish rap scene will agree with him.
His recently released single “Debate All Concluded,” which dropped on Friday, April 28, 2023, has already gained significant attention, with airplay on BBC Radio and Amazing Radio USA. BBC Radio’s Jade Burns praised the up-and-coming rapper for the excellent track.
As a passionate football fan, it’s fitting that Madew includes several football references in the song, something he has done in previous tracks like “NTKM.” Currently residing in Liverpool, he makes it clear that he’s a Manchester United supporter and not a Liverpool fan.
The song’s final lyric, playfully teasing former Liverpool player Steven Gerrard, proves this point. Madew also pays tribute to a former teammate and one of the Irish youth teams he once played for in the second verse.
The hard-hitting drill instrumental of the track shares a similar vibe with Central Cee’s style. In fact, Madew found the beat, labeled as a Central Cee-style rhythm, on YouTube.
The Danish producer AyooWest, who also worked on Nemzzz‘s recent track “Nemzzz Type Beat,” provided the beat. This marks the first collaboration between AyooWest and Madew, and it certainly won’t be the last.
