BBC America has just released a full trailer for season 2 of Killing Eve.
The trailer follows master assassin Villanelle’s next steps after being stabbed in her Paris apartment by Eve Polastri at the end of season 1.
We see her character moving through a few disguises, going from escaping from the hospital in her pyjamas to a glamorous and fashionable girl in a café- telling an Instagram influencer to ‘get a real life’- to donning a bizarre fluffy pig costume.
“Sometimes when you love someone, you would do crazy things,” Villanelle says at the beginning of the trailer. The trailer, set to Björk’s ‘It’s Oh So Quiet’, shows that Villanelle is back with a vengeance and ready to tangle the plot.
Additionally, Sandra Oh has recently teased a “much darker” direction for her character in the upcoming season.
“It’s so much darker for Eve’s character,” Oh recently told Extra. “It just goes really, really dark, and the pressure is intense. The line just keeps on moving, and Eve just steps over that line.”
Jodie Comer also said of season 2: “I think as well it’s just so much more of what people loved about the first series. We are still going on a journey with these characters.”
“But they’re all in different places and the relationships between them have changed with the events of series one, so we’re all having to move in a new direction, which is exciting.”
With the crux of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s smash hit series in the relationship between the two leads, this deeper exploration of their characters is music to the ears of all Killing Eve fans.
