Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, straight off the back of the Marvel anti-super-hero movie’s success, have steamed straight ahead with penning new sci-fi thriller Life.
Directed by the man behind Safe House, David Espinosa, Life is to tell the story of a crew of astronauts who discover life on Mars, only to discover that the inhabitants are much more intelligent than they ever could’ve realised.
Variety has now reported that Jake Gyllenhaal is to join the already pretty solid cast, made up of Ryan Reynolds and Rebecca Ferguson.
It seems that Gyllenhaal is in for a big couple of years, with Jean-Marc Vallee’s Demolition and Tom Ford‘s Nocturnal Animals already wrapped filming; David Gordon Green‘s Stronger and Bong Joon-ho‘s Okja for release in 2017. Because of this, we have no indication of when Life can fit into his hectic schedule.
But one thing is for sure, if you’re a Jake fan, there will be enough of him around this year and next to satisfy your craving whilst you wait!
