James Gunn Rules Out Two Iconic Villains For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy 2’ | Film News
With the monumental success of the first film (and soundtrack for that matter), it’s about time we had some news on the upcoming sequel. Well, James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy went to the social internet (yes Twitter) to address rumours about potential villains and foes to battle against Peter Quill (or shall we call him star lord?) and his merry band of intergalactic criminals.
Gunn replied to the rumours of Shi’ar Empire or Kang The Conqueror being the main antagonists of the Marvel film, saying that, “Shi’ar and Kang are both owned by Fox. All decisions about who is in GotG2 were made a long time ago“. Appearing in the recent Avengers comics in 2013, some fans would crave a return for one of these villains to return and battle in the separate MCU.
However, with rights to Fox who want to develop Shi’ ar within The Fantastic Four, it seems like they will have to find other options for a villain. But don’t worry as I’m sure they have many alternatives and other terrestrial villains they can face.
