Jennifer Hudson Unveils Full ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ Cover | Music News

After having sung it in a recent commercial for Mastercard, GRAMMY-award winner, Academy award-winning actress, and best-selling author Jennifer Hudson has just released her cover of the famous Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell song “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”.

We first heard this song in a commercial that was aired in mid-February and linked to the credit card company’s Strivers initiative, an effort to promote black women entrepreneurs across the country that have faced adversity and challenges and continue to thrive.

I am fortunate to have been influenced and inspired by so many incredible black female role models as I’ve pursued my dreams, but that’s not always the case for all black girls and women”, Jennifer Hudson said in a statement at the time.

On the same tempo as the original song, Hudson has managed to reappropriate this great classic by bringing it up to date by adding an electronic beat while preserving its authenticity and charm. Her bewitching voice almost sounds like that of Tami Terrell. A successful gamble then.

Jennifer Hudson, who will play the role of Aretha Franklin in the upcoming biopic Respect, last appeared on Mariah Carey‘s “Oh Santa!” alongside Ariana Grande.
