Jennifer Lawrence in a Quentin Tarantino film? Sounds like a dream come true, right? Well, it almost happened. The director recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he was considering Lawrence for the part of Daisy Domergue in The Hateful Eight, before eventually casting Jennifer Jason Leigh.

“I’m a huge Jennifer Lawrence fan,” he told EW. “I think I’ve been on record of saying that her and David O. Russell’s relationship is very William Wyler-Bette Davis like, and that’s a good thing to be like. And I can see her doing a good job with this role, so we went to talk about it and everything. She was just doing me a courtesy to see me, I think. She was doing Joy. She had to all this publicity on the Hunger Games movies”.

In the end it didn’t work out, because some things just aren’t meant to be. Tarantino, however, has no regrets – he revealed that placing Daisy in her twenties probably wouldn’t have been the best idea. “There was just no f—ing way in the world that she was available. Having said that, I’m glad I didn’t cast somebody that young. I think I absolutely positively made the right choice, as far as the ages of the characters”.

It doesn’t bother me, this way I get to see both Lawrence and Leigh kick some ass on the big screen. That’s one epic Christmas gift. It would, however, be interesting to know if Lawrence was interested in the part. If so, maybe they will join forces on Tarantino’s next project. Tarantino is known for writing characters with specific actors in mind. One can only hope!
