Community star Joel McHale is set to join the cast of Netflix’s National Lampoon origin story A Futile and Stupid Gesture, the feature seeing McHale taking on the role of his Community co-star Chevy Chase.
The origin story follows the men who founded National Lampoon and made the names of the late and great John Hughes and John Belushi. The show found significant success in 1970s and 1980s, developing from a comedy magazine into a movie empire that brought hits such as Animal House and Caddyshack.
Also in the cast are Domhnall Gleeson and Will Forte alongside Martin Mull.
