The trailer for the long-delayed thriller City Of Lies starring Johnny Depp is finally here!
Directed by Brad Furman and written by Christian Contreras, City Of Lies was supposed to released in 2018, and it was screened for the first time at the Noir in Festival in December 2018, but three years later, it is finally scheduled for the theatrical and digital release this month.
Russel Poole, Depp’s character, is a determined and professional detective who spends 20 years in attempt to solve the tangled case of Notorius B.I.G. murder, while Oscar-winning actor Forest Whitaker is to play journalist Jack Jackson who joins Russel on the challenging mission to find the murderers of Christopher Wallace and his rival-friend Tupac Shakur.
Moreover, the long-awaited film also stars top actors like Toby Huss, Kevin Chapman, Shea Whigham, Xander Berkeley and Peter Greene, with Jamal Woolard playing Biggie himself.
The thriller is based on the book LAbyrinth by prize-winning journalist Randall Sullivan and produced by Miriam Segal, Paul Brennan, Stuart Manashil and co-produced by Jess Fuerst and Paula Turnbull.
Earlier this month, the Notorious B.I.G. documentary I Got A Story To Tell premiered on Netflix attached to the anniversary of Biggie’s death on March 9, 1997.
