Joseph Gordon-Levitt has been a very busy man. Alongside his directorial debut of Don Jon and running online collaborative production company hitRECord, Gordon-Levitt is now further branching out into the world of comic books, following his role in Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For, adapting Neil Gaiman’s DC Universecharacter Sandman.
Gordon-Levitt is currently working on the script for the adaption with David S. Gordon and Jack Thorne, and stated during a press event for Sin City 2: “I think Sandman deserves to look absolutely mind-blowingly awesome, just on a visual level, and as cinematic as some TV shows are becoming these days, they still can’t compete with big movies visually, just because they can’t afford to“.
From the sounds of things, Gordon-Levitt is taking this role seriously, and has some tricks up his sleeve for the feature length superhero flick that wouldn’t be doable in a television adaption. No word yet on a rough release time, as Gordon-Levitt is currently working on Oliver Stone‘s Snowdon, whereby he plays the title role alongside Shailene Woodley and Rhys Ifans, due for a US release on Christmas Day 2015.
