According to reports at Variety.com, Erin Brockovich star Julia Roberts is set to star in Train Man, a “drama about a real life New York folk hero“.
Roberts would be set to play a lawyer who is made to defend Darius McCollum, a criminal known for impersonating public transit officials in order to drive subway trains and and Greyhound buses. McCollum, who has Asperger Syndrome, has been arrested over 25 times for his criminal activities. The script is written by Simon Stephenson and is being produced by Gotham Group. No director has yet been attached to the project, although Roberts herself may also be a producer for the film.
