Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis has just unveiled brand-new single “La Luz“, a collaboration with Puerto Rican singer Jhay Cortez.
The song, produced by Tainy, follows on from “Aqui Yo Mando”, the first offering from Uchis’ forthcoming album, which arrived alongside a video directed by Philippa Price. The track announces the forthcoming second studio album of the singer, which will be her first Spanish-only language project.
Commenting on her new track, Kali Urchis states: “‘La Luz’ is about the inevitable—that moment when you set your sights on someone and can’t wait to do everything freaky imaginable with them. I was so excited to make my version of a Latin pop song because there’s no other song like it on my upcoming album. I love Jhay and Tainy’s music so I was honored to get in the studio with them”.
It’s not the first release of the singer this year, since she already dropped the TO FEEL ALIVE EP, a collection of demos made during her time in quarantine. This album will be the follow-up to her critically-acclaimed 2018 debut record Isolation.
The two first glimpses offered by Kali Uchis are very promising, and we’ll let you have a listen to “La Luz” below.
