After such ludicrous comments, good, so he should be. Ken Livingstone’s Saturday morning radio show has been dropped by LBC in the wake of his recent claim that Adolf Hitler supported Zionism before he became leader of Germany. The former mayor of London denied that such comments had led to his show being dropped, the eight year long radio presenter alongside David Mellor remains strident in his beliefs that his comments were above board.

Livingstone commented:

I was told on Monday that my contract would not be renewed, it was an annual contract and doesn’t run out until the end of July/early August. I’ve been on every Saturday since September 2008 except for when I’ve been on holiday… and a break ahead of the 2012 mayoral election”.

As a student of history, I can say that such measures do not go far enough to remove the stain he has brought to such a revered topic.
