Lady Gaga got a large tattoo of the late David Bowie on her ribcage and stomach, ahead of her tribute performance at today’s Grammy Awards. The tattoo is one of Bowie dressed as his alter ego Ziggy Stardust, as he is on the front of the 1973 album, Aladdin Sane. This tribute to “Starman” Bowie comes only just prior to her eight minute long dedication to him at today’s awards.
Bowie has been a constant inspiration throughout her career, and she said, “I always felt that his glamour was something he was using to express a message to people that was very healing for the souls. He is a true, true artist and I don’t know if I ever went, ‘Oh I’m going to be that way like this’ or if I arrived upon it slowly, realising it was my calling and that’s what drew me to him”.
